In tonight’s Chicago Med episode, Maggie met with a headhunter. She has a bad feeling about the direction Jack Dayton was taking the hospital. She was afraid he would sink Chicago Med if he focused solely on his whims and not what’s in the best interest for the patient, but this was Maggie. Maggie was an institution at Chicago Med.

She was also an amazing nurse as well as friend. There wasn’t a single person at the hospital that wanted to lose her. They all wanted to fight for Maggie. Sharon even asked Maggie what does she need to get her to stay? She was willing to work with Maggie to make her job work better. And so Maggie has options if she wants to stay.

Maggie only believes she has to leave because of Jack. If he were to get bored with owning a hospital tomorrow, she would be happy to stay on. She loves Chicago Med. She wanted to fight for it and it hurts that the rest of the board didn’t feel the same. They went with Jack’s idea. They turned the hospital into a for profit.

They were also making room for a VIP section. The VIP section were getting their own floor. They would normally have to wait in the ED and now they get their own floor with an aquarium because Jack didn’t think the rich should have to look at the poor.

Jack moved the geriatric department to make room for this VIP floor. He told George that they were going to fold it into the orthopedic department. No one bothered to mention it to Sharon. She found out about all these new changes after she heard the construction going on. It was all a done deal when she found out about it.

It was just another thing to get mad about. Sharon was supposed to be running the hospital and she was constantly not considered in any of the decision making. Sharon wasn’t entirely sure if she wanted to stay much less convince Maggie.

Maggie also dealt with a troubled patient. She said her name is Jan Dover. She arrived in an ambulance and then she refused to leave the ambulance. She had apparently cut open her hand in an accident. She passed out from the blood loss. It’s how they got her into the ambulance to begin with.

Then she woke up. She demanded to be let out without being treated. She was a conspiracy theorist. She read a lot of articles online telling her that she will get injected with a virus at the hospital and that it was part of a scam to get her dependent on medications so that the pharmaceutical companies can get a payday.

Jan was paranoid. She has every right to be. Her sister went to the hospital during the pandemic for a brief hospital visit and she found out she had pancreatic cancer and later died. Jan whose real name is actually Jacqueline had blamed the hospital. She thought they killed her sister. She claimed her sister was perfectly healthy until the hospital pretended she was sick to kill her with pharmaceuticals. That was what Jaqueline believed. She then went looking for people on the internet to agree with her.

Maggie called Daniel. Daniel managed to talk Jaqueline into the hospital to get her hand treated. They moved all the scanners and x-rays away to make her feel comfortable. Only Jan wouldn’t get treatment for anything else. She was jaundiced. It could be an indicator that she has pancreatic cancer now, but no one could convince her of it and there were other patients to deal with. There was Tim who came into the hospital with an upset stomach. It was actually an ulcer caused by a tapeworm. And while he was getting treatment, his wife Pam went into labor.

Pam hadn’t known she was pregnant. She didn’t think she could get pregnant. She has PCOS and her gynecologist told her that it would be miracle if she does get pregnant naturaly. And that’s what she got. A miracle! Her son was later born at the hospital and he was a nice surprise for Tim after Tim’s surgery. Pam was lucky to have gone into labor right in front of Hannah and Sean. Sean was visiting the hospital to get tested to see if his kidney was a match for his dad. He saw Pam in distress. He stayed by her side while she was in labor. And now he was an honorary member of their family.

Pam and Tim have been trying to lose weight all year. He was the only losing weight because of that tapeworm. She also wasn’t losing because she was pregnant since their trip to Thailand. Only Sean had seen how happy the family was. It made him think maybe he should ask Hannah out. There were a lot of cons against it except the pros could defeat that long list in a heartbeat. There was also another patient that came in because he believed his cancer was back. It was Richard. Richard was the first patient to have surgery in the OR 2.0.

The cancer unfortunately grew back. It spread. Crockett took Richard back into the fancy OR and he got in trouble for it. There was a rich guy who booked the OR 2.0. Rich people can now book the OR exclusively for their own personal use. It also gets booked for the whole day. It didn’t matter if other people needed surgery more. And so Sharon helped Crockett circumvent the rules in order to do the surgery on Richard.

The surgery was a success and sadly Richard suffered a stroke under anesthesia. He was later pronounced brain dead. And Crockett was wondering where 2.0 went wrong.

Jan left the hospital without getting treatment for her cancer.

Sean visited the hospital to see his dad be a little too close to Hannah and so now he thinks they’re a thing.

THE END!
