On late Tuesday, Ted Cruz said that his daughter was “OK.” He also asked everyone to give him and his family privacy after they called Houston Police and fire personnel to their home.

Ted’s representative shared a statement with a source in which it said, “This is a family matter, and thankfully, their daughter is okay.”

Ted’s office also shared a statement in which they said there were no severe injuries. His office added that his family is requesting everyone, especially the media, to respect their daughter’s privacy.

As per a source, the department of Houston police said they heard a report a few minutes before 8 PM on Tuesday. They described that they received news that a 14-year-old girl was injured for stabbing herself in her arms.

They said that the incident occurred in the River Oaks neighborhood where the Republican lawmaker, Ted Cruz, lives with his wife and their two daughters.

The authorities said that there was an emergency case in the hospital where an unidentified girl was taken to the hospital. They said they didn’t know whether members of Ted’s family called the 911 operator to address the emergency.
